Resolving Issues With Apple ID Sign-In and Activation Lock

If your enterprise device becomes stuck at the Apple ID sign-in page, a simple restart may resolve many of its issues.

Setup gets stuck

It does this by sending an ActivationLockBypassCodeCommand command which receives its response with the bypass code specific for that device.

To achieve this, you’ll need the device’s IMEI number and MDM login details. If neither are available to you, contact your MDM vendor and explain your situation; they may be able to retrieve them from their server or help find another means of reaching the owner of the device.

Once Activation Lock has been disabled, resetting a device can be challenging as Apple requires both an Apple ID and password that can only be obtained through MDM console or by directly contacting Apple with proof of purchase. You could try resetting with another user or submit a support ticket; otherwise contact MDM vendor and request they send Apple a bypass code directly for your device.

Your account is locked

Apple takes great pains to ensure the security of your account, including offering two-factor authentication to protect against hackers accessing it.
